Sous Chef

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and completely hands-on Sous Chef to help support our Chef in our high volume restaurant located in Hood River. We are looking for someone who is extremely motivated and shares our high standards for impeccable quality and service in everything we do. As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the Chef in managing the following “back of the house” activities:

• Ensuring excellent food quality

• Recipe adherence

• Managing kitchen personnel

• Skilled in working and training all positions in the kitchen

• Expediting

• Fostering a cooperative and collaborative work environment with the front of the house staff

• Food purchasing and inventory management

• Safety and sanitation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations


The Sous Chef must act as a team leader and motivator for the kitchen staff, thus strong interpersonal and leadership skills as well as being a clear communicator is a necessity. Must be able maintain a calm presence during high volume and stressful situations and must enhance our team oriented restaurant staff.



Ideal candidates will have several years prior cooking experience in a fast paced high volume kitchen, and a successful tenure as a kitchen supervisor with responsibilities in inventory management and staffing and training. An associates degree or related culinary degree is a plus, but is not a requirement. Current experience with ChefTec or any other inventory and recipe software a plus.


This is a full-time year-round position with competitive wage and full benefits package offered. Candidates must be committed to a 40-45 hour work week and must be flexible in scheduling. Computer skills are required.
