LTD Limited Edition Lager by Full Sail Brewing Co.
In Colorado, skiers, 'boarders and cyclists have created some accomplished breweries; in Oregon, the same has been achieved by the windsurfers who spawned Full Sail Brewing in Hood River in 1987. One of Full Sail's prize lines is its LTD ("Live the Dream") series, in which the Limited Edition Lager is Recipe No. 2 (available on the bottom of the six-pack). This is a gorgeous beer, pouring a clear golden-amber with champagne bubbles and a thin white head. Its nose is filled with caramel malt, with an angel's breath of clove and banana. Flavor follows the nose — sweet, not much hops. Mouthfeel is full, with better body than most lagers. This beer is highly drinkable, the 6.4 percent alcohol by volume barely noticeable. A perfect quaff for an afternoon barbecue or an evening under the stars.
